Ben and I are looking forward to a few days off over the Christmas break and are spending it with very good friends in their new Penthouse apartment on the beach (yeah tough life I know). No plans for New Years Eve as yet though we are thinking we may go out for a nice dinner with friends.
We had Bens Mum here last week for 5 days and not only had a blast but we actually achieved quite a bit baby shopping wise. The nursery is now pretty much completed and still manages to make my eyes widen in surprise every time I walk past it!! I have ordered the pram and will probably pick it up at the beginning of Feb with the car seats. Now I just need to make a list of all the small items I need and start the gradual buying of these over the next 8-10 weeks. A big thanks to Jutta for all her help and very special contributions like Lulu the Moomoo Cow (seen pictured below) and fantastic musical light projector (that will keep me even more entertained than our little ones) and all the other gifts she bought, and especially for her time and company xx
From spare room to nursery in 300 easy steps! |
Ben looking very happy with his Mum (no wonder as we did all the sticking :)) |
2 Cots ready and waiting. |
A little glass of bubbles after all the hard work (that Jutta and I did!!) |
It was a lot of fun buying the nursery gear even though Ben and Jutta made me buy all the boring practical stuff while they got all the fun stuff LOL! On a strange note I bought a cot quilt and sheet set and when I read the washing instructions the label said "not suitable for children under 12 months" WTF??? How old do they think a child in a cot actually is?
A question for all you lucky parents of twins and multiples - did you buy a nursing chair and if yes did you get 1 or 2 so both mum and dad can feed a baby each at the same time? Any advice would be welcome!
Wishing you all the best for 2012 xxxx
Best Wishes for a wonderful Christmas & Happy New Year! How exciting-your nursery looks gorgeous. SJ & B xx
ReplyDeleteThe nursery looks gorgeous! I have a rocking chair that I use if one wakes in the night but not to feed as I come out away from the 3rd baby!
ReplyDeleteI definitely recommend a twin feeding pillow if you are home by yourself and need to feed both at once. You can always try and see what you need once they arrive. Good luck!
Hi Guys I was just thinking of you both yesterday! LOVE the nursery it looks so beautiful. The reason they say cot quilts are not recommended for less than 12months is because of the risk of SIDS and suffocation so they advise no quilts, pillows or bumpers. I just think it looks nicer when the cot is made and they can be whipped off when bubs are sleeping.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, I am looking forward to seeing the backside of 2011, it hasn't been our best year that's for sure!!! Take care and stay in touch. Bec xx
The nursery looks great!! Only a few more months and there will be 2 little people in those cots. Have a great Christmas and New Year, 2012 is going to be an exciting year!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! Merry Christmas and a Happy, successfull New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking nursery! We have a rocking chair in the room for middle of the night snuggled. For feeding at night we need to remove the hungry child from the sleeping one so our oversized chair or couch in the living room is where most feedings take place. I use two boppy pillows to feed them at the same time when I alone.
ReplyDeleteLooks so nice, calm and peaceful. How exciting to have this done! YAY!
