Our family all together!

We got to pick up our daughters yesterday and now we are all together at last!  The car ride back to the hotel was nice and uneventful as they both slept all the way.  We got back and gave them a bottle each and had lots of cuddle time before the night nurse arrived.

It was very overwhealming for me and I was pretty sooky for a bit but my wonderful husband was there as always to make everything OK again.  I guess I just felt unprepared for looking after two little people who rely on us totally.  Strange as I thought I was fully prepared but thats life, always throwing the curve ball!!  Today is a new day and I fell amazing and ready for anything (having a nurse on hand may have something to do with that feeling) :)

The girls look great and are feeding well and doing lots and lots of sleeping.  They are so tiny and look even smaller swaddled in their pink bunny rugs in the cot.

Wierd fact - Ben can swaddle like an old Indian woman!!  He is amazing and nailed it the first time _
WTF??  My first, second and even third attempt looked like I just screwed up the balanket and threw it at the girls....
Here are a couple more pics for you xxx

  1. I can only imagine how overwhelming it is to be so overwhelmed, when they are all yours and your responsibility...............well, wow, no small feat.
The love you have for these babies you too are deserving of.

  2. Hey Suzie, that's soooo normal to feel overwhelmed I don't think there is anything to do to prepare someone for the responsibility and 24 hr care of another life let alone two! You are doing a great job and you guys are wonderful people! Take care of yourself too :)

  3. You look amazing, really. Such beautiful little treasures :)

  4. Congrats on All four of you being together, now the fun reaaly begins! The girls are beautiful! Take full advantage of all the nurses available in india to help with the feeling of being overwhelmed, which is totally normal.

  5. Congratulations to you both! How very exciting to have them all to yourself.

  6. Many thanks for the exciting blog posting! I really enjoyed reading it, you are a brilliant writer. I actually added your blog to my favorites and will look forward for more updates. Great Job, Keep it up.. :)

  7. Lovely family photo's.. just cuddle feed and enjoy!!!

  8. I am so happy for you both, your babies are sooo beautiful, I hope to be in your shoes one day soon. Have a somewhat restfull evening

  9. Gorgeous photos-keep them coming! We even recognise the plastic chair from DNC :)

I know it can be overwhelming suddenly looking after two tiny babies, but it takes no time to feel confident with them.

If you have a moment, I would be most happy for you to show our regular nurses (Anila, Alice, Ruth, Rinju, Mariamma)the photos of our girls on my blog. Im sure they would be interested to see how big they are now after all their care and patience! Tell Alice the baby-birds say Hello!

Many thanks-enjoy this precious time. SJ & B xx

  10. So incredibly happy for you!!! Enjoy these incredible days! xoxoxo

  11. It is so lovely seeing your beaming faces as you cuddle and feed your gorgeous little daughters.

  12. You guys look like superstars. Stop beating yourself up about swaddling, etc. You're going to both be pros before you know it...and still be looking like a pair of hot mama and daddy. Congratulations!!

  13. Tiny, perfect and beautiful. And I'm sure you're already swaddling like a pro.
